1) Does Dodge change anything in the car's suspension if you order the wider-wheel package?

2) Do people think that the slighly shorter tire sidewall and wider wheels would make the ride noticeably harsher/less forgiving, or not?

I am 71 years old, and drive very gently as a matter of normal course. I'd like to maximize the car's handling ability by spec-ing the wider wheel package, just to increase the car's capability to the max. But on the other hand, since I never actually corner aggressively at speed, I will rarely (if ever) experience any benefit from the increased cornering ability. And if the ride is noticeably harsher as a result, I will be paying a penalty every time I drive in exchange for a benefit that I will never use.

Any thoughts?

I thought the 275's have 33 PSI as standard. The earlier gen chargers had the same tire pressure for different size tires. If you won't need them, you'll just be spending extra money. Tire Rack rates them at 8.4, pout of 10, for comfort. Look up Jeremy Satera, from Satera Parts & Preformance. He's driven a lot on the 275's and can compare them to other cars.

For myself it was noticeable on the prior gen (275 vs 305). There's always give and take. With the 2026 models I didn't notice a difference on my brief test drives. Go test drive each and see if it's noticeable for you.

I think wider is less important now with the AWD. But I did order mine with the 20x11.
