anybody could point me in the right direction about how to hard wire a dash cam on a 2026 sixpack ?

i really do not want to have a cable running trough my dash ..

i currently run it to a OBD2 to usb and it work great ..
but would soon need the OBD2 port to connect my coming soon JB4

thank you for any input you could provide

Yeah, I'm pondering that also. In the older series, a lot of people popped that big mirror mount cover off and tapped in there. You know you can get a splitter for the OBD2 port also. I use it during the summer months for my 24/7 camera and my Aeroforce gauge. My current one goes to the cig lighter port so it goes on and off with the car. Since these only have the USB-C ports, that won't work then.

I was thinking about odb splitter but it turns out out that the jb4 need the full bandwidth , burger tuning is recomanding to avoid it 😩

I am having a local shop doing it next Saturday along with a radar. I will update once I get it back. :)

It's too bad we can't get the camera the EV's had with the track package!

You can take power off the rear view if you still need to find an answer. You can get the pigtail off Amazon and plug into the mirror power. I have both a radar detector and dash cam off the same tap, and so far, no issues. Did the same on my Ram RHO and even the power tap is the same. I would strongly recommend the factory style tap with the male/female plugs and not the little skinny probe things that you shove into the factory wires as that's an accident looking for a place to happen. Just say'n , way late, stay safe

Have a picture or part number of the piece that I need? I'd rather do that than run mine to the lighter port in the glove box.

Any way to install the factory DXR after the fact? Kind of lame they didn’t offer it on the sixpack vehicles for what these cost and how cheap those components likely are.

The part I used is on Amazon, they list it a Radar Detector Power Adapter with the RJ11 plug, which looks like a plug for the house phone. It also list the plug as a DC3.5 which is a different style depending on what You have. Their only part number shows as TQHLBFU. ($32.99) But that should put you in the right area. Its an easy way to power stuff up from the mirror and you will only see a few inches of thin power cord. All you do is remove the 2 pc cover that wraps around the rear view mirror and covers all the electrics up there. The power that you unplug is the one that goes right into the back side of the mirror itself. I 'touch anything else. And of course you need a way to mount it all, and I have used BlendMount mount on all my cars and they work great, if not a bit spendy, they are very well made. Stay safe

Ah, Got it, sorry I should have thought it was a recorder. My last car, a C8 Vette, came with that and I never did use it. Thanks for the update. Stay safe

It appears to be the same Cosworth system that 'Vettes have used for 10 years now. Even uses the same Alive Drive app.

Hey! I actually did this for a dash cam / radar detector setup in my car. Check out Dongar (funny name, good product). They have an adapter that plugs into your mirror and doesn't need any wire taps, just unplug the connector that is up there, and plug in their splitter. Basically it adds a power only USB C port to your rear-view mirror.
Make sure it will work with your dash cam's power requirements. Some need 12V and some have other needs.
They didn't offer one for the 2026 model when I bought it but they did have them for the 2024, which is identical to our car.

To install the adapter, or whatever method you decide to go with: pull down carefully on the top lip of this piece of plastic in the center, a big part of it comes off pretty easily. I had plenty of room to hide the adapter and wires in there too. That compartment does get quite hot in the sun but so far no issues with the adapter. It seems to be able to handle the heat.
