Trying to figure out what this noise is under the hood. You can faintly hear it when the vehicle is running. It gets way more noticeable when off. Most cars make noises when they aren't running but this is louder than anything I've experienced. Is it a pump, pulley, fan? I took a 20 second video. It stops a few minutes after turning the engine off.

Same here. This is what I've found A high-pitched noise or whine from a 3.0L Hurricane engine after shutdown is usually normal, caused by an electric water pump or cooling fans running to cool the turbochargers. This post-run cooling process can last several minutes to prevent oil coking.

My Jeep 392 has something very similar... don't know what it is on there either but it's been around longer and if you search I'll bet you can find what it is on that platform. Might be the same on this.

I did some more searching on the internet and it appears to be an electric cooling pump. Not a huge deal. Just louder than you'd expect.

Its the Turbo cooling pump. It is meant to run after shut down to properly cool them. If you were just giving her hell and park and shut down it will last a lot longer. lol

Aftermarket has made them for turbo cars for a long time. They used to be called turbo timers. Just for what you said. If you’re hammering it and get to your destination it prevents the super hot turbo from “coking” the oil contained in the turbo.
