Does anybody with a factory rear spoiler have issues with fitment? There is a gap of a couple millimeters between my spoiler and my trunk lid.

Visually it's fine, but soap gets stuck in there every time I wash it and fills up the hollow spoiler, then it drips down the back as I drive, or if I open the hatch it covers my rear window in soap runs. I'm curious if my car specifically is missing some sort of sealing gasket or if it is just how the car is designed. My old '15 charger had the factory decklid spoiler and never had these issues.

I'm planning to seal the spoiler with silicone sealant once the weather gets a little nicer and I can get it properly cleaned and dry underneath. If that doesn't go well then I'm going to pop it off and try to seal it properly. I'm open to suggestions on this if anybody has some wisdom to share.

It took me a few washes to realize this was what was happening. Annoying. I plan to get a different wing though. So I am going to stick it out until I get one.

Good to know it isn't just me at least. Thanks! Just a heads up in case you aren't aware: apparently there are like 15 holes in the trunk lid under the spoiler. Depending on the aftermarket one you use, you may need/want to seal some of those. I guess the stock one just has a ton of pins to keep it stable.

I noticed it on a bunch of YouTube videos when people swapping out spoilers. Thought the very least they could do is have a thin rubber/seal or run double stick tape along the outline to make a complete seal. Most after market ones only use double stick tape & no pins/bolts to secure better

Oh! Good to know there are vids of this up on YouTube now. I hadn't seen them before, only pics of the process. Going to check those out now to see how much of a pain it would be to just take it off and fix it the right way. Thanks!

I only seen (1)video from AeroFlow Dynamics on YouTube and most of the videos are on some of the older models but common sense will tell ya it's a good starting point and go from there. After what I've seen it's probably best to leave the OEM one on & stay away from aftermarket. Think about it if your ever going to do 150mph the down force you'd want to make sure it holds on because it's actually pinned/bolted

Yeah I'm definitely not going to go with any glue-on options. I watched the AeroFlow Dynamics vid and it doesn't look too scary to take the spoiler off, just a pain in the ass. I just ordered some rubber sealant strips and I'm going to see if I can pop it off and seal it properly as soon as I can get a day and a space to work on it.

It feels like the spoiler gaps have gotten worse, the trunk lid is dipping down on the sides but flush in the middle. Not sure what that is about but I don't like it.

Im sorry bro but this is what has always happened with the charger...I had a 2016 and it was the most annoying part but not the end of the world

It definitely didn't happen with my '16 Charger in the 10 years I owned it, so I guess it's just a fitment/gap issue. I put a fix in earlier this week, I made my own gasket with 3M VHB.

I had to do a double layer on the front but it seems to have pulled the plastic trunk lid up where it was dipping down and made a pretty good seal. I haven't been able to wash it to test it yet.

It happened with the spoiler and with the tail light gaps....looks to do the same thing on this year's car.....not the end of the world guys

Yeah, mine is more like what Zaccity is saying. It's definitely something I could live with but I was annoyed enough to fix it. It honestly wasn't a difficult project so I went for it.
