They did not seem to like the Sixpack all that much
Yeah, too many people are stuck on the mystique of the hemi/V-8, etc. I am very ok w/o that to have AWD and a hatchback!!!!!!!!
I was watching the m550xi and 540xi for a while. The stock road test on a 21 matches the sixpack https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a35942311/2021-bmw-m550i-xdrive-by-the-numbers/I have read or watched about every review of these and most have been very positive. The Throttle House review seemed to be an outlier.
They were critical of a number things including the ride quality. I suspect the 40 series tires would be a bit more compliant than the 35s but most reviews were pretty complimentary of the ride. Obviously, a car of this type shouldn't be marshmallow soft but should be comfortable.
I look forward to test driving one tomorrow and comparing it to my BMW M550i. I know the sixpack will not be quite as quick but I am curious about the ride, comfort, quietness and overall refinement.
That’s a nice run, any tweaking? The Satera tuning guy did a street 11.7 with the JB4 on map 2BMW updated the software after that test. Car & Driver did a re- test later:

BMW M550i xDrive Is Significantly Quicker After Acceleration Fix
Your M550i xDrive was missing some ponies. We helped find them, and the 523-hp sedan is now 0.6 second quicker to 60 mph.www.caranddriver.com
I ran mine at the Brainerd, MN drag strip and it ran 11.6 @ 123 in hot humid conditions.
I want to go more in depth with my comment I said above with them not liking it. I do like Throttle House but despite that I have skepticism on this particular review. First I want to say I do not think the Charger Scatpack Sixpack is a track car in any means but I do believe it is better than the outgoing Charger/Challenger. So the comment they made on the gearing and power where Thomas mentioned it was slushy at the top and the downshifts take three business days and there was not enough Torque I don't see how based on other videos I have seen. The other is I highly highly doubt the outgoing Challenger is better in this application than the new because I drove the Challenger and it just doesn't make any sense how that is possible. Now I am not a professional by any means but I have taken different cars on an autocross, twisty roads and the track and I can say that Power and gearing for the most part stays the same feeling wise regardless like my Camaro for example, The BMWs I drove and a Subaru to add to that. Which leads me to believe that there was probably an issue with their car or something. I linked a couple videos from TheTopher and Tedward who are my favorite car reviewers and highlight their responses below. These guys highly contradict what Throttle house is saying and Tedward which I linked below Topher is shown pushing the car on Tail of the Dragon. Also remember from what I saw Throttle house had their car in Kph where the reviewers I linked below have it in mph. Tedward was impressed with the low end torque. The Topher had a lot off good highlights mentioned which I put in below above the videos. I copied each video URL at the Driving impression parts to skip the offtopic stuff.
Huge bumps you will feel it but riding over most pavement imperfections the car smooths it out well, Transmission is tuned really well, you sit nice and low in the cabin, good control weights around the curves and he likes what the gearbox is doing and the 8 speed is fantastic, tons of traction, control and confidence and rockets out of corners, Engine responsive minimal turbo lag, He thought it would feel too heavy and too cumbersome around the corners but it was sharp and athletic, nimble, changes direction quickly. For being 4816 pounds it hides its weight pretty well.
I agree with your opinion. Just doesn't make sense. This was the first review I have watched with Throttle House. In the beginning of the review you can see both guys are VERY impressed with it. But then they take it to the roads and course and something just switched with both of them. I feel as though they wanted to be the outlier here. Something in my gut just doesn't sit right with there review. All of this is just my opinion of course.
I’m not super familiar with them but aren’t they originally from Europe. I could be confusing them with someone else though. This was the first review I have watched with Throttle House. Oh yea, but the way they acted and then the sudden cut into the last part just didn't sit right with me. There have been other European reviews that thought it was fine.I’m not super familiar with them but aren’t they originally from Europe. I could be confusing them with someone else though.
It’s tough for people who have grown up with small hatchbacks most of their lives to like what is essentially a Grand Touring (GT) car. I love GT’s but this one is even a little big. I plan on buying one but I think the previous Challenger was the perfect size.Oh yea, but the way they acted and then the sudden cut into the last part just didn't sit right with me.
