I want to spread the word on a little design flaw with the '26 Sixpack that could cause some headaches if you aren't aware of it.
First some disclaimers on my exact model:
Not positive which models this might affect (probably affects the Daytona as well). I have the Sixpack Plus model with the fixed headrest seats. I also want to point out that this is a bigger issue on the two door models since the seats move when getting into the back seat but will likely affect the 4 door as well.
The issue:
Underneath the front seats are floor vents for heating/cooling the rear of the vehicle. These vents stick up quite a bit, and there is some carpeting that extends over them as well. Underneath the seat is a motor and a wiring connection secured with a white clip that hangs down but is attached to the seat with a plastic clip that can catch on this vent and/or the carpeting over it causing the plastic clip to break free from the seat. On the passenger side there is another piece that will catch too-- it seems to contain a tube with water in it so it's either an airbag component or something for the cooled seats. The seat motor also comes VERY close to catching on the vent and will catch on a floor mat. It is mounted securely, but will likely be knocked loose over time. This will happen if the seat is down low and the tilt is flat to be level with the floor.
The temp solution:
I don't have a real fix, but I will now ALWAYS make sure my seats are slightly tilted up in the front. The seat can be all the way down, as long as the front of the seat is tilted up slightly, these components will no longer catch. Mine also had some wires hanging down that would bump the vent. They didn't seem to be in danger of breaking but I zip tied them up out of the way to be safe.
