Hey all,

Just wanted to share… I got my 4-door scat pack over the weekend. The dealership let me take it home over night before official delivery, as it was late. I had zero issues with the uconnect system/CarPlay the first day/night.

When I brought it back to finish the paper work, the service department flashed an RRT while we finished up the business. When I hopped in to drive it home the Apple CarPlay was acting crazy…

1. Song switch delay
2. Volume delay (like turn the knob or steering wheel controls and input would register sometimes minutes later…)

Some other oddities and delays… it was basically unusable for CarPlay, but the other stuff worked fine(xm/fm).

Luckily I had a great salesman that helped me work through it. We tried a bunch of stuff to fix it and what ultimately worked was going into system settings in the uconnect system and doing the defaults reset. Fixed everything immediately and no issues since.

tl/dr
So uconnect issues… try defaults reset in system settings. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully I will be picking mine up Thur. Later RJD

Thank you!

I'm having Apple CarPlay freeze randomly. I have to kill the WiFi on my phone and try connecting from Uconnect again.

This may help me.

I'm having this issue on my Jeep 392 right now. Bluetooth works fine but Apple Airplay/Carplay locks up. It only started happening when I upgraded to a new iPhone, a 17 Air. My old 16 Max never caused the carplay to lock up. Maybe a software issue / compatibility issue between them.

I wanted to follow up on 8pack-2’s suggestion to reset in system settings. Thanks!

Seems to be working perfectly now for days.
Doing a reset fixed any connection issue I had.

It deleted all the radio presets, connected devices, basically anything you can customize in the UI, though I’m thinking it kept some car settings I made.

Glad it fixed some stuff for you! Sorry you lost some settings, I didn’t think about that as I hadn’t changed anything yet.

Mine was goofing up on day one post test drive when they had flashed an RRT during paperwork, but no issues since the rest still about 2 weeks in.

The CarPlay is the wonkiest thing in the Sixpack that I've experienced. Even when I want to do wired CarPlay, it wants to use the wireless version. And if wireless isn't working right, and you want to just switch to wired, it sometimes still won't recognize it. I've had to forget the device on both the car and the phone, reset the console, and power off/power on the phone. This is too much of a hassle to try and do constantly while I'm out and about.

I prefer wired CarPlay… but I think Apple screwed that up and not the OEMs. Any vehicle I’ve had with wireless CarPlay just doesn’t work right when you want to do wired only. I gave up and just use wireless even though it’s less secure.

Well I use Android works fine. Later RJD

Also, press and hold the volume/power knob for about 10 seconds, and the uConnect (only) will reboot.
That trick works on my 16 R/T but didn’t reboot mine. Theee is a restart option in the audio menu which did reboot. After the reboot it would flash the disclaimer at initial start like old one, hadn’t seen that till then. I’m having car play issues mostly when remote starting I had the same issue before rebooting it didn’t connect with the USB a few times

Hold it longer, it will reboot.
