We all know this a new platform and generation Charger. So it is going to have problems. I am going to be open and honest about my experience so far with it. Of course if any one has any questions please let me know.
I got mine Tues Dec 23rd. It drove great and I loved every second of it. It handles great in the MN snow. IT sounds good and feels good. The pumped in sounds a re little bit much, but you can turn off sports mode and it goes back to normal.
Friday Dec 26th I was sitting in my driveway and messing with some stuff. It was in Park and put it into RWD mode. A warning light instantly came on and said something with the parking brake was flagged. Thought to myself "Ah, here comes some bugs!" Turned it off let it sit cam back out a few hours later the code went away. Still thought I would bring it by the dealership the following Monday
Sunday Dec 28th got my purple tints placed and drove it home. Weather was nasty AF. I parked in the drive way and put it into park waiting for someone to come out to give them a ride to the store. I have an AWD car now Snow can wish it could stop me. Threw it in reverse and let the car use gravity to get to the bottom of the driveway (10 ft max). Hit the snow bump and gave it some throttle, nothing happened but revved. Tried again. Same thing. Warning pops up "place car in D then choose gear again". Did this several times. No catching. I put it into drive climb back up the driveway and let gravity do its thing to get me past the bump. Through it back in drive and start to drive. All good for about 40 feet. Transmissions starts slipping and skipping gears. Eventualy never leaves 1st and just revvs at anything past 20mph. Well shit!!
Monday Dec 29th Bring the car to the dealership 7am. Drives just fine, until I hit the dealership road. Same thing not going past 20. Drop it off tech tells me super busy new years week. Probably not today but tomorrow we can look at it. All fine by me, just wnat to see WTH. I get a loaner by EOD - 2026 Jeep Wrangler 4 door. Not my style but why not. 14 miles on it.
Friday January 2nd. Still no diagnosis not even scanned. I go into the dealership after work and express my concern. Manager understands and gets it top priorty. 45 min later get a call. 3 codes stored. 1 for parking brake, 1 for gears 1 for driver side window won't move. Tech says letting it sit will get back to you. 30 minutes later Service assistant calls. Not a clear and go. Lvl 3 tech needs to look at it Monday.
Monday January 5th Tech texts " the Transmission needs replacement, waiting on Chrysler for ETA.
This has been an interesting experience. I am not faulting the dealership or the Service crew for the issue. I am however not happy waiting 5 day for just a scan to see what's wrong. Would a scanner sooner fixed the issue, no. But at least I would not have been in the dark for 5 days.
How do I feel about the Transmission? New Gen. New Car. New Platform. Issues happen. I drew the short straw. No hate just sad. I was having a good time and I don't mean abusing it. I respect the break in period. I am hoping from the bottom of my heart this is a single time issue with just my car. I really would hate to see this platform go down because of wide spread Transmission issues. I am not regretting my purchase. I will not be selling it or trading it. I picked the six pack for its potential. But this experience has been less then ideal and I can only hope for a fast resolution.
Also I hate the Wrangler. I am asking for something different. LOL
Update: 1/7/2026 Tech said "Check Engine light P1D92-00 Clutch 4 Defective. Fluid level was correct. Preformed Quick Learn and reset adaptive values. No improvement. Next step is to replace transmission. Transmission ordered, no ETA."
