That’s the way to go. When you put a plate in a non typical off center location it’s worse than stock because it immediately draws your eye to the plate. That’s kind of defeating the whole point in my opinion.
I’ll be curious if it trips any hidden flags in the PCM that would tip off the manufacturer and dealership like conventional tuning does.
Up to this point I’ve never heard of a BMW tipping off the dealership that the car has been tuned if the box is removed before taking it in for service.
