I'm assuming they may be using ABS or the rear drive unit to hold in park. I've been trying to dig into that.

Electronic parking brake integration would be the reason, higher end stuff that comes with a Brembo rear usually has a secondary caliper or a drum style parking brake. We do brembo conversions for the previous generation, we were hoping to figure it out on this one but we may need some more time.
