Bypass Active Exhaust Valve

Okay for the folks that ask about the “Active Exhaust Valve Bypass” here is how to do it. I mainly noticed in eco it sound like sports mode now which is nice. No codes at all.

Thanks for sharing! I wish the car gave us more direct control over this. I have a lot of nice neighbors close by and I like the valved exhaust for that, but would like to open it up after I drive away. At least I can switch it to sport.

Dang that’s a quiet hood lol! I honestly don’t think they are to loud at all. I would personally move lol! Joking but yeah be nice just to have it manual control over it.

I'm not sure if I just got a loud one or what. It's noticably louder in the cold though, so maybe you live in a warmer area. It's not Harley Davidson loud, or racing exhaust loud, but it's pushing what I'd expect from a stock exhaust.

It sounds good still so I don't think anything is broken or faulty on it, but every sales person at the dealership commented on how surprised they were at the volume when I picked it up in the cold in January.

My guess as to why they don’t let you just push a button and change it is likely something with emissions laws or fuel economy laws… kind of like how they don’t let you default the auto start stop to off.

Realistically there is no reason why this should not be controllable independent of drive mode and we should also be able to turn off auto start stop by default. But Stellantis wants to make more money by complying with regulations, so everything is an active opt-out that might impact fuel economy/emissions.

Well if you recall you could change the exhaust sound on a Grand Sport Corvette . So don't know why Stellantis chose not to give us this option. Later RJD
