Brake Dust - Revisited

I test fitted my winter wheels and notices hardly any brake dust from when I cleaned the wheels well a month? ago. I've tripled the mileage so it's not from lack of driving either. Maybe initially there's an outer coating that wears off while the pads bed. Anyone else see this?
