Does anyone know how to change the light on the gear shift? I was wondering if I have to replace the entire shifter or is there a bulb that can be replaced.
Thanks
Thanks

I would definitely like to believe it is LED. And unless you bought it totaled out, it should be under a warranty still, right?Does anyone know haw to change the light on the gear shift? I was wondering if I have to replace the entire shifter or is there a bulb that can be replaced.

I sure haven't. BUT, I have considered getting a Sixpack shifter to find a use for that "L" button on yours, the EV doesn't have that.Don't trust the dealer or what? You'll have to research on the EV site or ask Pioneer if anyone's done it.
Funny, I hadn't noticed that "L" was a button I could press. I really just never noticed it beyond in passing. I'll have to see if it show up on the OBD2 CAN or if it's on some other chassis/body CAN network. Make it into the "Loud" toggle for the Fratzonic maybe? Could always add a little "dongle" on the line to catch the button press message and broadcast some other message on the same CAN or on a different CAN if you knew what messages you want to mimic with a button press.I sure haven't. Have the dealer fix it or you end up with Warranty issues. Ask to keep the dead one since they are 99.44% likely to just replace the whole shifter assembly. If they let you keep it you can dissect it and make it however you want (custom or factory). It's very likely the lights themselves are just on a small surfaced mount PCB lined up with the numbers/positions. There are other reasons the lights may not work including whatever sensors they have in there for position (halls, micro switches, linear, angular or whatever I just don't know what's inside). If you do get to keep it, Pioneer might want to pick it up from you for his side project. I could use it to see what the CAN side looks like. lots of uses, just need to get permission to keep it. I highly recommend you don't dig in yourself and end up with a warranty issue because you got in there without permission.Does anyone know how to change the light on the gear shift? I'd say take to dealer and have fixed under warranty cause if you mess it up no longer will your warranty be no longer in effect . Later RJDI know it's under warranty, but I would much prefer to put it in myself and avoid going to the dealer.
