This is from AI, but seems like a good summary. I just use CarPlay with music streaming so can’t confirm this works.

Here’s how to set up your USB drive for Uconnect 5:

Format: FAT32

USB drives must be formatted as FAT32 — not exFAT or NTFS.

How to format on Windows:

1. Insert your USB drive
2. Open File Explorer, right-click the drive → Format
3. Set File System to FAT32
4. Click Start

Note: Windows may not show FAT32 as an option for drives larger than 32GB. If that’s the case, use a free tool like Rufus or MiniTool Partition Wizard.

On Mac:

1. Open Disk Utility
2. Select your USB drive → Erase
3. Choose format: MS-DOS (FAT)

Audio formats that work:
MP3 is confirmed to work, and WMA may work as well.

Tips for best results:

• A drive formatted FAT32 with MP3 files at 192 kbps works well and sounds great.
• Keep files under around 5,000 to avoid slowdowns — with too many files, browsing can become very slow or unresponsive.
• 128GB USB drives are confirmed to work on Uconnect 5.
• Make sure you’re using the correct USB port — some ports (especially rear ones) are charging only and won’t play media.

So, you're plugging a flash drive into the center USB-C slots? I've seen that in earlier models too. I thought that it depends upon the flash drive makeup. Have you tried other types/brands?

On my Daytona, I use a tiny thumb drive plugged into a right angle A-C adapter in the front port. I have all of my "Car Tunes" on it, and listen to music mainly from it, basically every time I drive the car. Remember there are 2 ports, and the media player treats then separately. I think the lower one is #1, but not positive.
IF they ever put the DXR in the Sixpack, that is a USB A port in the console, and it needs to be formatted ex-Fat.

Aren't there some in the center console also?

Non in the console just the 12 volt plug in. Two ports in under the screen display labeled 1 and 2 . Later RJD

Only on the Daytona, and only on the Scat Pack, WITH the DXR package. And it is only for that to save recordings.
Like this.

As for the front USB-C port
I use one of these

And one of these TINY Thumb Drives plugged into it. That leaves the top slot for something else if needed.

Also, if you have a drive plugged in, then you can save screenshots of performance data from uConnect like this (obviously, different gauges on EV/ICE)
And I haven't checked recently, but it adds your VIN, and Milage and GPS Coordinates to the screenshot. Sometimes in Metric, sometimes not...
Some examples from my car. (Geez, almost 1½ years ago already)
