This is the dumbest attempt at slinging mud at one of my favorite cars I’ve owned to date. I have the Scat Pack, but R/T is still an absolute beast with the same swagger, more or less.

You might think a 2 mph difference isn't much, but according to the test, the Mazda starts catching up 21.4 seconds after launch, and needs just 29.7 seconds to reach 120 mph, where it will (eventually) pass the Dodge.
“”” -article

😂 only needs more than 30 seconds at WOT to pass the Dodge and only possible due to the governor on the Dodge.

Who cares about top end. It's the quarter mile that counts :) Later RJD

I'm surprised by this. How/why is it limited to only 125, and the Scat Pack 177??????? I could see the EV but the gas one? I also found that the EV is limited to 137. Did they have a speed limiter set on the test car?????

Ugh, yeah, I know the Daytona (EV) is limited to 135ish. That is because the electric motors are spinning at about 17,000 at that speed, and there isn't a 2nd gear on them. But the R/T and Scat Pack (especially the Scat Pack!) shouldn't be limited. Well, maybe the R/T without the Performance Group.

Well, Wr. Salapantan, you suck. Your article is just plain old wrong on so many levels. The way you show data makes zero sense. The CX90 is a cool vehicle, but nothing about it performance wise can compare to any version of the Charger. By the time it might actually be going faster, the charger is probably a good ½ mile ahead. There are several SECONDS difference in the 0-60. This is typical crap, probably AI assembled. No actual comparison side by side showing what actually happens. Just because the Mazda has an inline turbocharged 6 with half the horsepower, eh, what's the point, I give up.

so what is top speed for six pack plus? Later RJD

Definitely just click bait trash. My understanding of how it's worded is that it needs 29 seconds to reach 120, which still isn't the 127 needed to actually catch the Charger. Also it would be so far behind at this point that it would probably take several minutes of wot to catch it. Zero practical applications for this.

All of that said, 125 is pretty crazy low governor for a 400+ HP car. My 2015 310HP Pentastar could hit that pretty easily

so what is tp speed for six pack plus? Later RJD
Governor is supposed to be at 177 for the Scat Pack. Plus or not plus doesn't affect speed.
I haven't tested it though... Don't think I will ever find a place I feel safe enough doing so 😂

Find some ½ mile event. I'd love to go to one, even though I'd top out.

Thanks. Don't think Ill be trying that. I could go to Echo park and see what is the fastest speed that they would allow us to drive. Later RJD

These people are idiots, I clump them up with "it dont have da V8 sound it garbage" low IQ posters around the internet. We have some decent roads up here, was able to get to 141 before I called it quits (don't want to eradicate a moose), I didn't see any issues with top end, granted it's not hellcat top end but able to push pretty fast either way.

Yeah this autoblog article is living in delusion land. The top speed of the RT sixpack is 168 mph source is from Dodge and the scat is 177 mph. This Author is just click baiting.
EDIT: I made a comment with a link to the Stellantis press release stating the actual top speed. If you guys want you can upvote that or like it. I really dont see where he is getting that 125 top speed from for the RT.

At that speed I wouldn't be worried about the moose! lol Personal best is 148. I have been very tempted to just open it up on the open highways though.

I used AI to do some math for me, and theoretically it would be more like 1-2 miles to hit 177 mph with 550hp at 5000 pounds. Plus you'd need some extra runoff time needed to confirm it hit the governor.
