Wow, check this out! Just think, your gasoline budget almost goes to ZERO! Police will LOVE an AWD car with all that torque!

*********Based on teasers and renderings, the 2026 Dodge Charger Pursuit is expected to build on the Daytona R/T platform, focusing on the electric variant for its AWD system and rapid acceleration. Here’s a breakdown of potential specs:

  • Powertrain: 456 horsepower from dual electric motors, with instant torque for 0-60 mph in the low 4-second range. Top speed could be limited to 134 mph for safety.
  • Range and Charging: Up to 315 miles on a full charge, though police equipment like lightbars might reduce this slightly.
  • Drivetrain: Standard AWD for superior traction in pursuits, rain, or snow.
  • Performance: Claimed 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds for the high-output civilian Scat Pack, with police versions potentially tuned for durability rather than max speed.

Yeah curious what we'll be seeing coming for the pursuits, check this;

Top speed on the EVs are limited to 134 because the motors are spinning about 17,000 RPM at that point, and they don't have a 2nd gear.
EVs for police work actually makes sense. They spend HOURS just sitting idling most of the time, even when they are responding to a call. And they don't need to be able to go hundreds of mile at a time, that is what the radio is for.

I was actually just watching the video of this when I stumbled upon this post, funny timing!
Maybe it's weird to say but I kinda hope this doesn't get too widely adopted. I feel like it will cheapen the uniqueness of challenger-like body style if it's just the go-to cop car.
It's funny the cop car gets better cup holders than we do! :LOL:
I hope you're right about the specs on it and it's closer to the R/T. I don't plan on outrunning any cops but it will be neat to know that I could. I feel like it would have more power than that though, they usually put a lot of power in pursuit vehicles

Not going to lie, I feel like this as well. Charger, Challengers, Camaros, Mustangs, Corvettes, BMW, Audis, etc etc. Tons of regular traffic cars now. I am actually enjoying people seeing the car and asking about it. Kind of don't want that to go away lmao.
