Most of you have probably noticed that the coolant pump for the turbos will run for a while after turning the car off. I live in the Deep South and it’s brutally hot right now. The pump would run in my car for several minutes after I got home. Over the weekend I tried an experiment.
Opening the hood after shutdown reduced the runtime of the pump to about a minute vs the five or so it would run before. Will I do this all the time? Probably not. Is it nerdy? Yeah. Just found it interesting.
