When I bought mine in April 2026 it had just plain rubber pads and until I read this I had no idea, thanks to all who posted this info. But I hated the ones that came so I went on line to Ultimate Pedals down in Florida, who I have used several times and spoke to the owner about the 2026 as it was not listed yet. (Robert Baylor) Super good people and very easy to work with. They made me a custom set of aluminum race pedals with no rubber at all but a gripy surface for sure and in a few weeks I had them to install. You can get them in a matte or shiny finish and even get custom logos engraved. They are much more grippy than the chrome or rubber, but again it does make a difference on what type of sole is on the shoe you are wearing. You can feel the difference. I prefer the firm pedal feeling when applying the gas or brake, and yes they will make you the left side dead pedal. Stay safe
