HUD “D” and MPH

So I was driving in AUTO mode yesterday and think the HUD changed from what is usually displayed in AUTO mode. I swear it used to just be the large numbers for MPH and the little speed limit sign with speed and box around it.

Today I noticed when in Drive there is a little D off the bottom left corner from the MPH numbers and there now also appears to be a small MPH annotation under the MPH numbers.

Just seemed weird to me, I swear the MPH annotation, at least, was never there previously as it looked out of place. I remember just seeing large clear digital numbers in the past, a real clean aesthetic, this looks “dirty”, thought it was a smudge at first.

Idk I might have just been having a weird day.

Anyone else have thoughts or experiences like this? Wondering if some kind of OTA update pushed or something, my car does NOT have my WiFi, but it does have the cellular hotspot.

Kind of creeps me out if there are no opt-in or out choices to updates like this… if they can change this you know… like what else is going on without warning?

Hopefully I’m mistaken and was just having a weird day that I was more perceptive than usual.

I still wish they’d add a gear indicator when not using paddle shifters. It’s nice to have a mental map of what the car might do, downshift wise, when you hit the throttle hard.

Do any of these have Wi-Fi per se? Doesn't it have to use either the Hot Spot or another Wi-Fi signal to get connected? When I'm in my driveway, I have a list of options to log on to. See the one thread where it was always showing updates non-stop?

I don't remember if this is there normally or not. But someone did mention getting an update this weekend. Maybe they're rolling something out.
You're giving me hope that they may have brought back the setting that shows what gear you're in when you're in auto. I really liked that on my previous gen Charger.
I personally haven't seen any signs of an update on my car yet though and it has my wifi

Yeah I looked today and I don't think the hud changed. I think the D and MPH have always been there. You might be able to tweak the hud a bit in the settings menu, maybe you changed something or maybe you didn't notice them because they're faint.

Mine is still the large MPH, small gear indicator, and a speedo sign that gets a red box around when I'm over the posted limit.
