Would you be mad or trade out for it? I’m not sure I would and I am a big HEMI fan.

I don’t think they will put it in these, coming from a 392, I’m oddly satisfied with the performance of the HO Hurricane engine and it sounds pretty good. I think most people will want the more powerful engine, unless they really want that HEMI soundtrack.

Plus look at this chart… makes me think they can really only justify a HellCat version as a higher trim on the ICE side. The HO Hurricane is a monster!

Hellcat or something entirely new is the only thing that makes sense if they were ever to put an 8 in the car. It's going to cost more for less HP and more weight if they go with the same old Hemi. People who haven't driven the '26 like to complain about the weight, but it's balanced and handles quite well. Adding an 8 to the front end is going to throw that balance forward.

It just seems like a foolish move to do anything other than a Hellcat, unless they make the base Hemi be the cheaper model (somehow) for people who care more about sound than performance?

Edit: To clarify, I love a big rumbly V8 as much as the next guy. V10 Viper is my favorite car. I'd consider trading up to the Hellcat if it was an option with AWD for the snowy months. Not looking to start a cylinder war here, just putting my two cents out there that the lower trim Hemi's don't make sense

The only issue I have is the sound but its livable , But installing a Hemi will just up the price. The figures above should satisfy most as it does me. I had the EV version and it was quick. There are some differences but I enjoy the I 6 Later RJD

On a 6.4 It costs You Roughly $3000-$10000 to pick up 1xx hp. Where the hurricane for $699 you can pick up about the same!

I am a big hemi fan, our major market is really hemi stuff..but its ancient and its nice to see new stuff like this.

Before you guys started tearing into it did you get a chance to take it out and open it up? How would you compare it to the last gen Scat Pack?

I don't think the 5.7 or 6.4 will happen. You get better performance out of the hurricane. Maybe a 3.6 Pentastar as a more affordable base model. But who knows the 5.7 is doing great in the RAM 1500. I do think the hellcat engine makes sense as the flagship trim. I'd be down for that. An AWD Charger with 700+ horsepower is just about perfect in my opinion.

I just dont think they legally can put a hot car (most stolen and runs from cops) awd with over 700 hp that would be suicide and extremely dangerous for the public dodge would get sued....I think if they ever did a hellcat it would be RWD only and cost well over 100 grand

So what about the ZR1X? That's 1250HP and AWD. Manufactures are not responsible for what buyers do with there product once sold. But I will say I am in the opinion that it needs to RWD as well. If they sell the Hellcat AWD it will undermine the Hurricane. And the Hurricane is supposed to the new flagship.

No different than the Trackhawk or Durango Hellcat. But with the Hurricane, and dial a boost = power, who knows.
I'm still surprised they haven't made a 4Xe of the 6 cylinder Hurricane. Even more power, better efficiency, EV stealth mode, win, win, win.

Probably the weight/space needed for that.

Dn't think a PHEV would be worth the trouble as you get limited mileage on Battery. I think a Hybrid would be better. Later RJD

The big rub would be that the 6.4 or Hellcat would likely end up with the currently unbreakable PCM. For the Ram and Durango they were able to stick the old engine back in along with the old PCM apparently.

Has to still be less than my Daytona, and there is PLENTY of space under there since mine has 1200 pounds of battery.
Just think, hellcat power levels, AWD, and using no gasoline at all for around town trips. I've had 2 PHEVs (I got both for the extra power, and ended up liking the EV part), and they really are awesome. And more power is always a plus to me. I expected it in the JGCL, then this body. Oh well.

The weight of the engine is listed at 441 for the HO and 650 for the 6.4

Well I still have a PHEV and only get 28 mile on a charge. Best one I had was a Chevy Volt almost a year with out using gas.

Lol your talking about a car that is 200 grand plus.....very very limited will be sold. I just dont see the hellcat if they make one now being awd...and if they do they will be slower and well over 100k

What do you mean by unbreakable PCM? Like it can’t be tuned/reprogrammed aftermarket or something?
