60 yr old fart, living in Gainesville, FL. About to trade a '23 Challenger Hellcat for a Scat Pack. Local dealers are letting them go (non plus model) for just under $50K.

Looking for real world experience with the car - 1/4 mile performance, gas mileage, etc.

I test drove it on local streets, not enough to make a definitive decision.

Any guidance would help. Thanks!

I would highly recommend a Plus. The list is long, and to me, most are requirements.

Welcome to the forum. I would definitely go for the Scat Pack Plus. Later RJD

I agree, the Plus model all the way; as long as they give you a discount. Just the bigger driver's screen, cooled seats, power down windows, and camera surround with this big thing. "Plus", I need the Plus model to get the red seats.

Plus isnt really in the budget. There is no waiting list for them here. Local dealer has 8 of them.

If you want the performance the plus is defiantly the way to go. Later RJD

Incorrect. I am looking at the Scat Pack not the R/T.

Sorry misunderstood the one you where talking about. 550hp for just a scat pack. Later RJD:)

This is the main resource, the actual Feature Ability list. I highlighted the the one I personally would not miss out on.
Key $ items are
Power Liftgate
Rainsense

Larger Dash Display
Attitude Adjustment interior lighting and other lighting including front and rear map lights, glove box...
Power tilt/telescope/memory column
Wireless phone charger (cooled with fan)
Built in TomTom Navigtion
H.U.D
Surround Camera (WAY COOL, curb/blind spot features when parking!)

Intrusion Detector on the alarm

Ok, thanks. I may hold off until more data is out on them. They aren't moving off the lots so I am not worried about supply. Going from 376ci and 717HP to 186ci 550HP is an adjustment I may not be ready to make.

If you must have that power/acceleration, go for a Daytona! 670hp, AWD, 5¢ a mile! (vs W.A.G of a Hellcat, 15MPG, $5 a gal, 33¢ a mile, plus oil changes, and brake pads...) I ran 11.4" at the strip in mine.

Electric cars are like microwaves ovens versus conventional ovens IMO. Plus our dragstrip does not allow electric vehicles due to fire hazard.

I’d go test drive one and put it in sport mode (under fifty on one is a great deal for the engine etc if you don’t care about the extra tech). I didn’t have a hellcat, but coming from a 392 the throttle is a bit different and once you figure out how they shift and where they produce power, they’re better engines than the HEMIs(I’ve had many naturally aspirated ones and love them but they’re ancient tech), monster torque is always there and the turbo lag is minimal.

The only thing you’re missing out on IMO is that the engine and exhaust soundtrack sounds a bit more like a German performance vehicle, but it’s still aggressive, loud and has attitude fitting the car IMO.

The AWD means all that power is always hooking up… I think in a 1/4 mile the sixpack scat pack beats the HC chargers/challengers(unless you’re a professional/excellent launcher) because it can actually hook up and go. Of course you can also turn it off when you feel like getting loose and rowdy, but the fact that you can drive these in the rain and not feel like you’re going to do a 180 in a roundabout is a huge plus in my book.

I think once you get in and drive as stated above you will like it. Later RJD

OK, you don't like them, fine. I was just saying if you like the new Charger, but wanted something quicker on the street than a Hellcat, try the Daytona.

And yeah, they are like microwave vs conventional (I assume you mean the ones, uh, on fire?) because they are FASTER. If you already have a Hellcat (way cool BTW), the only reason to get a new car, is for, well, NEW stuff. Everything on them is so much more modern. But no, they won't do 200mph like a Hellcat, yet.
And also FWIW, I've had "older" HEMI cars as well. Both "1 of 1" cars.

Actually, based on some numbers I've seen, the Daytona is still slower that the Hellcat, and much slower than the Redeye.
