What's the deal with the approach/welcome lights? Sometimes as I approach my Sixpack, with my key fob, the lights come on, then slowly fade, as you would expect. But other times, they don't light up. I can even take the fob out of my pocket and put it next to the driver's door and still nothing happens.

It may have to do with the setting in Uconnect. Later RJD

ive noticed that when the dome light that comes on when you get in the car is turned off the exterior approach light go out too

I have figured out that if I toggle the dome lights on and off, it will "fix" the approach lights, but only for a while. The same thing happens when I toggle the approach lights in Uconnect. Too bad it is so sketchy because it is a cool feature, especially the puddle lights.

My approach lights only come on when the vehicle is locked. They do not come on when it is unlocked however.
Mine works either when locked or unlocked. Yours may need an up date if it can not be set with the U connect system. My car was built towards end of April and seem to have all up dates so far. No issues to date Later RJD

Welcome to the forum. See this is your first post. Would like to see you introduce your self on the intro thread and tell us a little about you and your car. Thanks Later RJD

Also, I think after a few days the car goes to sleep, and it no longer works.
Also, if they activate several times within a certain time span (the manual doesn't say), Uconnect will disable them. If you look in Uconnect, they will still be selected, but won't work. I gave up on trying to figure out how to reliably get them to work again. The novelty of the approach lights kind of wore off anyway, so I just turned them off. At least I don't have to worry about it draining my battery.😉

My car has set for over a week and my lights work just fine
Try disconnecting the small 12 volt battery located in the hatch area. This controls all console lights. This may re boot the system and may solve the problem. Later RJD
