What's new

check engine light again

After 10 days of supposedly diagnosing my 6th CEL issue with Dodge involvement toward the end, they informed me yesterday that they are going to REPLACE the ICM and then flash the software up to current specs. In a weird way it sort of makes sense that with all the AI stuff going on along with chip and memory shortages last year, a bad chip or two may have gotten into the supply chain. If the chip or board were bad or compromised, repeated software updates would not work in my case. Hopefully next week when the part comes in and they replace it, we can get the car back, put an end to this 5-month ordeal, and start having fun again driving something besides the soccer mom Pacifica they have repeatedly provided me as a loaner.

Combination of both. Drivability was only two of the issues that appeared to be fixed with the TSB 18-022-26 REV D update and reprogramming the PCM, TCM, and ISCM to latest. Persistent P2097 and P2099 Fuel Trim System issues started in May with replacing the upstream O2 sensor and reprograming, then replacing the downstream O2 sensor and reprogramming in July, and now we are going to replace the ISCM and reprogram again. August saw repeated CEL related to Fuel Trim that sometimes reset itself and then triggered again along with resets at the Dealership when the TSB 18-022-26 REV E updates were applied. Drivability has not been an issue since June as the sensors are reporting a Rich not Lean mixture being detected.

Took it in this morning just to find out they do not have technicians on duty. They did a quick scan and sounds like the same problem as before (fuel trim). It does not affect drivability as of yet but I did confirm they will give me a loaner if needed. I hate using PTO for this kind of crap!!!!
