Current Gear in Instrument Cluster

Anyone know if there’s a way to get the current gear in the instrument cluster or heads up display while letting the transmission do its thing in auto? On my older Chargers and Durangos you could have the current gear next to the D in the instrument cluster, which was kind of useful for knowing what would happen on a throttle blip or before jumping into manual mode.

I’m also just generally curious about where the trans is sitting in normal driving.

I also miss this feature from the old model. I couldn't find it either.

If you use the paddle shifter it will show what gear your in. When you get to 8 D briefly will show then disappear. Later RJD

I remember on my 2021 Grand Cherokee Summit L you could even get it to show up in the HUD. (I think)

And it looks like the Sixpack car can show it, maybe only when in AutoStick mode?

It is mentioned a couple times in the manual. Search for "current gear"

Wile manual shifting it does show but the op (original poster) was asking about it in just default mode and I dont think it does it

No it does not show up in default mod but as I mentioned the gear shows up while using paddle shifter once you it gear 8 it disappears. Later RJD

I tried to find it, doesn't even show the gear in Performance pages just D, and shows D on the HUD in Sport mode. I could get the EVIC to show the gear on my 16 Road and Track, first found it in the Performance pages first.

It might show on the second screen of propulsion in performance pages on the uconnect display. It looks like a circular gauge showing HP and Torque with “gear” in the middle. Would be much better on the HUD or IC, though. I haven’t tested yet, might end up just saying D, though, in auto. I was looking at it in the garage not moving.
