Have had my car approximately 2 months. Was back at the dealership over a week having paint fixed on the door right off the lot due to what looked like a chip, not sure was like that brand new before I signed paper work so I requested it be fixed (they sent it to a body shop to be fixed).

Now at 3700 miles check engine light is on with P068A code and paint peeling (literally like it does not even stick to the primer) on the hood. Called Stellantis (Dodge Cares / Customer support not sure of their exact name anymore) today and started a case with them. Had an appointment at the dealership today but their systems were down so now I have to go back Thursday to have the vehicle inspected for both check engine light and paint issue. So disappointing on a brand new vehicle.

One thing I did notice is the check engine light came on after I turned off the “auto start/stop” feature which is a button below the radio because I didn’t want the car to shut off at the red light. I have the 2026 2 door Scatpack. Not sure if that’s what’s throwing the code initially for people but hope it helps to point it out.

Oh and for the win had a nail in my tire already that I had to have patched.

Your check engine light might (hopefully) just be a software issue. There are definitely a few kinks in this car's software, and from what I hear that is somewhat common with new Stellantis cars. I had a crazy issue that seemed like my transmission exploded around 3k miles, but it turned out to just be a software update to fix. With any luck it will be the same for you.

As for the paint, that might be closer to a lemon situation. As you saw there's another thread with some people having this issue but I don't think it's extremely widespread. At least not yet, but it does seem to be due to the body panels rubbing rather than just faulty paint. Those panels don't touch on my car.
I'm at 6K miles and have had my car since January, no paint issues yet, but I'm more and more nervous every time someone new pops up with the issue, especially since it seems to be affecting quite a few different colors 😅
There was a rumor going around that dodge was aware of the paint issue and there would be some sort of recall or TSB but I have no clue how valid that is.

I see your new to the forum. Welcome aboard. Later RJD

Sorry to hear about the issues. The check engine lights seem to be pretty common. The paint issue is definitely not acceptable and that looks pretty major to me. I hope they make it right for you.
