MT said Dodge declined to send them any cars for the race (video in article):
https://www.motortrend.com/features/worlds-greatest-american-drag-race-2026
"Dodge kept its electric and gas Chargers home, which speaks louder than anything we might have said about any of those vehicles."

How can the "king" of drag racing production vehicles not send them any Chargers? I mean, what the heck Dodge?

Well, the Daytona would not have been last, and that is all you can really say. The Sixpack would have been. These are ALL serious cars!
Amazing that all but 1 had sub 3 second 0-60 times!

If they are going to run these types of races lets do with American cars. I really don't care for European cars. Later RJD

I get it that the cars they tested were each brand's ultra high performance halo cars, and that Dodge doesn't currently have one.
But this race was being billed as "The World’s Greatest American Drag Race", so Dodge should've sent the EV and ICE Chargers anyways.
The Daytona Scat Pack would've tied the CT5-V, and the Six Pack Scat pack would've made a respectable showing just a 1/2 sec behind them.

So I did some math, and you could buy FIFTY (50!) fully loaded Sixpack Scatpacks for the MSRPs of those 9 cars... 42 loaded Daytonas.

Dodge just doesn't have a halo car right now so they don't belong in that competition. Even the Hellcat/Demon would be close to dead last here. As mentioned above, the Copperhead is what they're waiting for.

I'm excited to see how the modified Sixpacks compare to these at Roadkill Nights though

I can see why Dodge did not send any cars. Ya can not compete with Foreign cars when they had no cars to match. Later RJD

Not having a "halo" car is absolutely no reason for not presenting a car in this race. None.
The event was called "The World’s Greatest American Drag Race", not "The World's Greatest American Drag Race Of The Top 3 or 4 Fastest Cars".
And don't forget that Caddy sent a CT5-V, which only ran an 11.7 so why not a Daytona that runs the same exact time? Or a 6 pack that's only 1/2 sec off?

Dodge dropped the ball on this one. Shame on you Dodge.
Shame on you ...

Well if it's the great American race then it should be all American cars. :) Right Later RJD

Well "greatest" American vehicle drag race would include the power-to-weight ratios provided by the 670 hp/550 hp Chargers.
In that sense, the other American vehicles don't count and clearly didn't make the cut.;)

The bottom line is this ...
GM sent their high 11 sec Caddy.
So that means a high 11 sec Daytona belonged there.
And a low 12 sec Six Pack Scat Pack should've been there.
But Dodge chose to bail, bad move. Bad PR. Bad everything.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, especially about things like this which have no basis on anything concrete.
For me, I still think Dodge dropped the ball. Especially when MT apparently actually asked for a vehicle.

Yep and I did.:)Later RJD

It would have been nice for them to have something there, but knowing that they have Roadkill Nights coming up and their 'engineering day' to announce new stuff right before it, I just see why they didnt.

People are getting unreasonably personal when my post is deleted for simply reinforcing a common sense logistical point.
That's not a good look. Think again about what you did, or I'll bail out of this forum faster than my Scat goes 0-60 mph ...

You had a post moderated? Maybe you just got a little too spicy in your response? For what it's worth, I think your above takes are justified, and I agree it would have been nice for them to send SOMETHING. Even if it was an older Demon or Hellcat.

Euphemism?
