While testing paste wax yesterday on the hood, I noticed something.......... I thought that I had salt? stains in the "SIXPACK" letters. After more investigation, I found that the letters are like little swimming pools w/o a drain. The water dries up and leaves a white residue. Solution? Since that area has a drain under the letters, I put a drain hole in the corner of each letter. A 3/32" bit worked great. Too much???????????

Reminds me of my Shelby Charger Turbo cars hoods, they have a big functional vent on them, and a drain pan under them to direct rain water kinda away from the engine.

Yeah I noticed these puddles too after washing the car and thought it was an odd design choice. I'm planning to replace the hood asap so I'll skip the holes. Probably not a bad idea though as long as you're careful drilling them!

I prefer to use a aerosol can of air with tube and just spray it out and wipe up afterwards . Usually not much there after car wash that is done in town and by the time I drive home not much left. Later RJD

Looks like on top of the inner hood cover, then down to the radiator cover. I have a lot of stains there also.

and here I am worrying about engine chatter and grinding noises....I need to focus on the serious stuff!
