Muscle car insurance penalty

I live in Tennessee and pay $1150 each for insurance per year on a 4Runner and 2010 Challenger SRT. My agent went to insure the new Charger with the same company and it would have been around $3200. He got me with Hagerty's for $1230. Amazing.

I'm old, they charged me about the same rate as my Marauder or 16 R/T

Mine is lower than my 2018 V6 charger.

OP, what company originally? Why Hagerty? Have you checked Progressive or USAA? Sate Farm wanted a lot more than my current car, so I switched to Progressive and I now have better coverage and hundreds less.

That's a full year. What's the penalty? I'm so old that I remember in the late 60's and 70's with the advent of the hemi and and 454 big block, insurance companies would really hike the insurance rates on high powered muscle cars.

HOLY COW! State Farm wanted $1820/yr, so I dumped them and will be at $1012 with Progressive.

Scat Pack Plus. USAA was close, but still a little higher. I went with progressive so I could do the Snapshot thing.

It sure was and it was a sleeper. Had a lot fun with it. I sold it 8 years ago to guy here in town so I get still see it once n a while. We did a car show together last month my new six pack and the Monte side by side. Later RJD

Just the new one. When I asked why it was so much more, she said, "it's because of the high horsepower"! I just shook my head and left.
