Service Electronic Throttle Control

About 4k miles on my scat pack plus… hit the gas and got a big red lightning bolt “Service Electronic Throttle Control”

Whatever the issue is, this seems to effectively put it the car in limp mode. So I had to putter it all the way over to the dealer with the engine limited to like 2k rpm or something.

Service department refused to give me a loaner or rental… had to make a stink with sales to get a car I could drive home while they figure this out.

Anyone else have this Service Electronic Throttle Control issue and get it resolved? I did a quick search and saw nothing to date.

Sounds like you’re dealing with a pretty lousy dealership. We’ve got one up here that acts the same way, they barely lift a finger to actually help you.

ETC issues can come from a bunch of small things like sensors, wiring, or a loose connector (which is probably what it is but who knows). I really doubt it’s the throttle body or anything big IMO. Too bad they didn’t bother pulling the codes or doing a quick inspection while you were already there. Would’ve given you at least some direction on what’s going on.

Personally, I haven't had it, but I only have reached 2200 miles right now.
