Hi all,

Got my 2026 R/T Plus Friday and have a few questions I haven’t been able to figure out.

1) In uConnect, the auto-dimming mirror shows as grey. Does this mean it’s on or off? Seems strange it would default to off.

2) How is the uConnect software update supposed to work? I ticked the box for WiFi then connected to my network but when I click Software Update it just shows the WiFi connection screen. There is no “check for updates” button and nothing happens. It just sits there showing a list of available networks with mine flagged as connected.

3) Am I correct that the doors don’t automatically lock when you walk away from the car? Have to use the fob?

4) Mine has the Enhanced Security Alam. What exactly is this? Manual isn’t clear.

Thanks for any help,
Mario

See this is your first post, welcome to the group. As to answer your questions for the mirror I have not really paid any attention as I have not driven at night so no help. As for your updates others will chime in on this as I have not seen any updates and I did not pay extra to use it how ever the Dodge app if you downloaded it is temporarily out of service. You can also lock the doors using inside lock button or when you close the door there is a little black button recessed in the lower part of the door handle. You can also check out the thread about maps updating all the time. Later RJD

I think that Grey is off Red/Orange is ON. (Why it can't just say ON/Off, got me).
It will usually stay ON but after service/update or a profile swap it will revert, and you have to check again.

According to the manual........
1. Yes
2. I saw that too and had to keep trying it to get it to work.
3. Yes, or the door button.
4. Enhanced or Deluxe? Page 23 discusses the "Deluxe", if equipped. The only enhanced I can find in the manual is for driving systems. There's many pages about this, but not an alarm.

There's also a Radio manual you can download and check also.

Thanks everyone for the replies. In regards to the Alarm, this is literally the text on the sticker "Enhanced Security Alarm". I read the manual as well and am just not clear on what this is or does.
Regarding uConnect upodate, when you say keep trying do you mean you just kept going to the software update screen and eventually it displayed something other than the list of wifi networks?

Try going to your setting and see if you find security enhanced alarm. Personally I never gave it a second thought. There should be a screen that says uconnect update. Later RJD

I mean I had to keep clicking on it until it grabbed a good Wi-Fi signal. Then, it worked. I'm going out now and will double check.

Interior intrusion sensor I believe.
Oh ok. Thank you. Reason I was asking is I wonder if this in itself would be sufficient for theft protection or if I still need to look into a 3rd party solution? Mine is not a Scat Pack and will mostly be parked at home except occasionally at the airport when I travel.

Well now days nothing is fool proof. If it's a car someone wants you can bet they have figured out how to take. I think what is on the vehicle now will do. wish I'd have a system back in the 60s as I had my 409 stolen found it 3 days later strip. That was not fun. Later RJD

1) Mine also defaulted to off, weirdly. I assumed the dealer turned it off on me though.
2) That's the neat part! It doesn't work! Lol Mine does nothing too. It's something I'm not a fan of. I like feedback, give me update revision numbers and patch notes please! I'm hoping if we ever do get an update it will pop up and let me know.

Also, welcome!

I have no issues with the uconnect. All is good. Later RJD

I "almost" bought the 1963 Impala SS convertible Grn/Wht interior, in 1968 at Don Hutson! I ended up getting a Biscayne ex-police car with the 327 instead!

327 where a hot car with the 4 speed. Later RJD

Yeah, we also had a 1972 Dodge Van 225 slant 6, 3 on the tree. And a 66' Buick Special V6 & 3 on the tree. First car I ever drove, only in the driveway though.

I don't think the current gen Charger has the issues that the previous gen had. The outgoing charger had a physical flaw that allowed it to be shifted to neutral without a key which caused a significant number of them to be stolen.
That said, all cars with push button start have the same flaw: key duplication/spoofing. If you're super paranoid about this, or live in an area where this is an issue, get a faraday container for your keys. Personally I don't feel like I need to bother.
