Took a little trip for work this week down to Richmond VA, a little over 300 miles one way. Filled the tank in Winchester, drove to Richmond, drove around the area for a couple of days, back to Winchester where I filled up again. 26.94 mpg by my calculation. I always hand calculate, the gauges in the cars are always optimistic by a few mpg. Not bad at all for a heavy car that I was not driving in the most economical way. And the engine and everything else is still breaking in too. I have a little under 1900 miles on the car now. I think I’m going to change the oil this weekend.

Pretty similar to what I see with a similar driving style in the H/O. The S/O uses 87 octane if I recall right, and H/O uses premium, so I'd assume that's why the numbers are similar. You still pay less at the pump though 😭

Pretty early for an oil change. Charger needs full synthetic, it's expensive and holds up longer so most recommendations are for 5k miles. Probably not going to hurt anything changing it early if you want to though (except your wallet)

I’ve been running 93 since I got it. I had a Jeep Cherokee years ago with the 2.0 turbo (which this engine is based off) and there was a very noticeable difference in power and responsiveness between 87 and 93. I’m sure the dealer filled it with 87 and to be honest, it ran ok but was kind of “ clunky” and didn’t feel like it very eager to move. I realize this was still the initial break in, but around 700 miles things began smooth out nicely. By 1k miles I was seeing a couple lbs of boost with very little throttle. Now the car just pulls like a freight train! It feels just as strong as my 392 challenger, and I don’t like to admit that. As for the oil, it’s gonna Mobil 1 or nothing, been using it everything for almost 30 years now, even the lawn mower. I want to change the oil kind of early to get all those nasty break in particles out of there, then I’ll follow the oil change gauge.
