I’ve seen the speed do weird stuff like randomly be 50mph in my neighborhood which is like 25 posted… so idk, maybe carwash was next to highway and gps from roof cover put you there? As far as my neighborhood goes, though, that’s not really explained. I’ve also seen it go to like 10mph on 55mph state roads randomly.

I think he’s talking about the shored limit saying 70mph on the little sign next to the digital speedometer.

Look to the right. The speed limit is showing 70 in the car wash. It’s just begging to be broken.

Just showing in the wash so where ever he is at maybe that is the posted speed limit. Later RJD

I believe it uses the ADAS cameras to see signs. It probably holds onto the last speed limit it “saw” as long as the GPS data is close to that roadway.

Yeah the speed sign memory is a nice feature when it works. It seems to work as CTMEO says, and when it doesn't have a sign then it defaults to some database (likely the gps map data).
It will tell me that the speed limit is 55mph (correct) on one side of the road then later when I drive back it will say it's 30mph (incorrect) because it didn't see the sign as I turned onto the road.
