Top Tier Plus Gas

I was told to repost this since we never talked about gas before. Anyone following the Top Tier Plus standards mandated by the beginning of 2027? It is specifically for GDI (Gas Direct Injection), like we have. There's some that are already compliant. Everyone gets their gas from the same place, but it's the additives that are added for each brand. So, there IS a difference. There are shady places that use lower octane that's mislabeled 93, but it sounds like name brands ones do not.

There have been several posts about Top Tier gas and octane levels back in June under "The Dreaded Check Engine Light" as inferior gas was a possible cause for CEL issues several of us were having at that time. I have never experimented and have only used Shell 93 octane since day one, so my CEL issues have not been gas related. Also, down south here we tend to not get any "winter blend" gas. We just have to watch out for idiot delivery drivers that fill the tanks wrong like diesel in the gas storage tanks or 85 octane in the 93/premium storage tanks.

I also use Shell 93 only as well. I've never had any problems. Shell has a good rewards program as well after 3 or 4 fill ups your at the top tier rewards of 10 cents off per gallon. The best is on Chicago Bears gamedays they give me an extra 25 cents off for a total of 35 cents off per gallon. Bear Down
