After having a Dodge Magnum SRT8 for just under 20 years (Still Have BTW), I decided to move on to another car. This time it was a 2026 Scatpack Plus. Now understand, that this was not my first or even remotely any of my main choices, But I really liked the look and when it first arrived in late 2024 I liked the new design but HATED that it was all electric. The redesign is what the car needed, just not the power-plant! fast forward to last week and I go I decided to test drive one to see how it was. Well, coming from a 6.1 moderately modified (Headers, cam, intake, exhaust, custom tune) to this thing was honestly a surprise experience. I LOVE the hatch back idea! I've always liked the Challenger, but hated the size. So when I drove the car I fell in love. The power took getting used to (There is a lag and it doesn't seem to be turbo induced), and the braking OMG almost put me through the steering wheel! So...I actually liked it. Not love, not for the $68K price-tag. WTF DODGE??? Then the sales guy tells me, they are doing a deal for $10 per horsepower...plus another $5k for loyalty, and the manager took another $4k off for dealer incentive. So $50K'ish and I'm sold! I've had it a week and already have 1500 miles on it. I drive my cars, and in south Texas, in the oil field industry I travel a ton! (Although I think I will get a company car cause this is crazy)...LOL! SO I have a 2026 Dodge Charger ScatPack Plus Sixpack 2 Door with the blacktop package and NO MOON ROOF! Sorry, but Texas heat will bee too much with that thing! Im enjoying it, but it is time to start looking at power adders and mods. First simple mod is the stupid barely funtional heat extractor that is on the hood...time to nake is work like they said it would! Then the JB4, Catch Cans, And my pals Muffler shop to see what we can do about that weird exhaust note. (Dodge did too much with that raspy almost ricer sound). The build will be slow at first until I fully break it in and convince the wife, but...Christmas is right around the corner, so who knows!
