550hp and Gauge

Ok that's on you....but i wish more people knew that turbo engines (and we have 2 massive ones) need frequent oil changes.
FWIW, I was talking to a mopar tech yesterday and he said he’d probably do the first change around 4k on these… so less than the manual says, but more than what a lot of folks on here are saying to do it around 1k.

Just hit over the 500 mile mark. On my way home today I decided to nail it and man this thing shifts fast and I reached red line each time only got through 1 to 3rd and bet could have got rubber in first to 2nd gear. Awesome. Later RJD
Yep… these things go… try hitting it when you’re going about 65-70 on the interstate…. My goodness, if the downshift is right, it sounds like Godzilla has awakened!!!

Well I have a 22 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE that is turbo charged. Have change oil on it every 5000 miles so I see no need to be any different with the Charger. I'm one to not get on it much. Guess we shall see how it works out in 3 years or 36000 miles. ;) Later RJD

I get free oil changes first full year so got one at 1500 I'll do second at 3k and every 3 k after that

I change both of my vehicles every 5k. (My DD is a Trail Boss with the baby Max diesel.) Both turbocharged both high 20s PSI. Less than the manual says but not too soon. Makes the math easy.

I've always changed at 0%, and an oil analysis showed no deterioration, so I'll continue it. This is from the manual, so I'll keep going until I get the alert to change it. ******NOTE: Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 10,000 miles (16,000 km), 12 months**********

Bumping to see if anyone can snapshot an actual picture or data from Performance Pages showing horsepower well above 400 or closer to 500 in the scat pack.

I’m not seeing it once on the propulsion chart and that’s not for lack of trying. Either PP sampling is bad or the engine is electronically pulling power to protect the transmission is my guess. The math on the torque peaks and RPM don’t seem to match the horsepower from what I’m seeing.

I think you're actually seeing 550 or closer to it than you think on that graph. The top line is 650, so 550 wouldn't be much farther above that 520 line.

Ohh the red on orange was throwing me off, I see the actual HP is much lower. It's gotta be WHP or a simulation of WHP? Just a guess.

I'm looking at the numbers not the graph. It's most likely an inferred value. I've never seen it go above 400. It can't be accurate

Have ANY car gauges/numbers been spot on? I have a gauge on my Hellcat cat plugged into the OBD2 port, which is more accurate than the stock ones.

Funny you say that. My 797hp Redeye never saw more than 600 on the PP.
The torque seems fairly accurate in PP, so not sure why the HP would read so understated. Technically, you can compute the HP from the torque and RPMs… so that’s what seems odd to me…

I didn’t get a picture or snapshot of it today, but definitely busted over the 390hp line in PP today on a couple different highway stabs. Probably around 420-435 if I had to guess in AWD/sport.

Frankly these cars are so fast it’s hard to play with them within the confines of local speed limits to see what they can really do.

It's an awesome problem to have. I also love how stable they are especially around corners as well. Just always feels solid.

I’ve been informed that the Performance Pages calculates crank HP… so I now find it really odd to never be seeing over 500hp. My 392 would often show 450hp or more. The 400ish numbers on the PP for the sixpack scat pack should be much higher or my car tune/software is off, PP is bad, or some safety features are retarding the engine.

Part of me wonders if the tune/software is bungled between the R/T and the scat pack based on numbers and shifting behaviors.

Can somebody else with a scat pack test this out(safely and legally of course 😬)?
