Ignition On

The disconnected end to the top of the aux battery. You can see it in the pic previously posted by baabootoo, at the arrow as re-posted below, the other end goes into the trunk floor. I presume it's a breather tube to vent gases buildup. As shown in the picture of my battery is a note "Ventilate well. Do not install in airtight container"

Just to be clear, this is yours or the more powerful one with the red colored posts? They are significantly different.

It was hard to see in baabootoo pic yours is a lot clearer. Thanks. Later RJD

I zoomed in for you. See the difference? The red post battery is AGM, which doesn't need a vent. Mine still has the hose connected also. The stockers must be flooded (lead acid) then. We need a picture of a replacement battery to see if they put in AGM.

Go to post 36 pic shows AGM battery. Later RJD

See post 36 it has the vent tube. Later RJD
To be clear post 36 is my battery and it does have a port for the vent tube. The tube was disconnected when I bought it but thanks to the picture of the other battery I was able to find the vent port as its in about the same place.
The Dodge app service history shows "electrical work" so it could well be a replacement battery. As near as I can tell the car was on the lot since February(?) and I purchased it in September. The original battery could have died from not being driven as it had 15 miles on it.
