Idk if I ever started the Sirius trial. At any rate, car seemed to do some network activity around 2am, tracking it in my router, very small kb down/up like 43kb total then nothing. So I assume it was “checking in”. It does not stay connected otherwise.

It's definitely possible and not a bad thought, but I don't think this is the case.
The beginning of the version number is "MY24" (model year 24) so I actually suspect that the software versions are probably shared with even the Daytona. Trim level consideration is likely done elsewhere.
Probably using WiFi to send updated info to the dodge phone app.
I have messed with this a lot and I'm pretty confident that what you're referring to is the car searching for wifi networks.
It looks like the button is to check for updates but the only thing you can make it do is scan for WiFi connections.
Taking my car in for the recall on Friday. I know the fix is an update to the vehicle software. We shall see if it fixes the problem with the app. I am 51 days without the app syncing current info. I will post what software version it will be when the service is done.

Also, contacted my case agent and they have absolutely no clue. Can’t even change the phone number on my account without deleting the vehicle and starting all over again and having to provide id and bill of sale or title. Never had issues like this with my other vehicles. Very discouraging to say the least.
I'm still at the 42.9 version and nothing on the phone app either. My 2015 Charger was not easy to update the U-Connect either. I had to download onto a USB drive. I uploaded at the dealer in case I messed it up.
Up loading at the dealer maybe the way to go. have them do a WiFi OTA up date Later RJ
