Realized dealer pumped my tires up to 38psi all around after oil change and rotation …

Isn’t it supposed to be like 32 psi? Why on earth would they do that? I feel like they should know the numbers. I’ve got the 20x11 305s.

It's suppose to be 35psi Laterr RJD

35 psi cold, so if it's warm where you are or the tires were toasty when they filled it up then 38 might not be bad.

Ive been keeping mine at 33 psi though, maybe that's for the 305s or maybe I misread the door sticker.
Either way I'll be adding air soon as the temps are gonna start plummeting

No matter what the temp they should have only put 35psi in. Yes I realize that is recommended for cold tires but I've always air up to 35 Later RJD

Ok correct, door jam says 33 tire says max 50 psi working phone app not going to show you anything that's already been discussed. Later RJD

Studies show less wear on tires if you over inflate (like 37 to 38) try to keep mine at 36 cold then rarely hit 40 psi. It is totally safe.

I keep mine at 35 seems to be the sweet spot. Mater of fact came that why when I bought it. Later RJD Later RJD

My RT with 245’s came from dealer at 40- same sidewall of tire saying 50 max PSI. I prefer 38, so I let some out. Door plaque also lists 36

Maybe because I have 255/45/20’s

Yup, nothing wrong with doing this. Slightly over inflating = slightly less wear and better gas mileage but less grip
Slightly under inflating = slightly more wear and slightly worse gas mileage but a little more grip

I have the 255/45 tires. Placard calls for 36psi. Makes sense, it’s high school physics guys. Smaller contact patch, same weight, needs higher pressure to support same weight.

My car came off the boat with 46, 47. Dropped it down to 36.

Makes sense. I never really looked into it too much. I'm planning on running thinner wheels/tires for winter, so I'll need to figure this out
