Just Joined, Thanks for Having Me

I’d go test drive one and put it in sport mode (under fifty on one is a great deal for the engine etc if you don’t care about the extra tech). I didn’t have a hellcat, but coming from a 392 the throttle is a bit different and once you figure out how they shift and where they produce power, they’re better engines than the HEMIs(I’ve had many naturally aspirated ones and love them but they’re ancient tech), monster torque is always there and the turbo lag is minimal.

The only thing you’re missing out on IMO is that the engine and exhaust soundtrack sounds a bit more like a German performance vehicle, but it’s still aggressive, loud and has attitude fitting the car IMO.

The AWD means all that power is always hooking up… I think in a 1/4 mile the sixpack scat pack beats the HC chargers/challengers(unless you’re a professional/excellent launcher) because it can actually hook up and go. Of course you can also turn it off when you feel like getting loose and rowdy, but the fact that you can drive these in the rain and not feel like you’re going to do a 180 in a roundabout is a huge plus in my book.
The ScatPack 6 cyl runs 12.0-12.2 as per Car and Driver. The Hellcat is 11.3-11.6 in 1/4 mile on a legit dragstrip with professionals maintaining the track. When I raced my first HC, I had no problem hooking up for the most part. That was on 20 inch aftermarket wheels with 305 Mickey Thompson street legal radials. I am not talking about retarded street racing, which is utterly stupid, worthless, and can only lead to larger problems. You don't need to be a professional to do a good burnout and get it to leave w/o spin or wheel hop. You may have to play with tire pressure, but 20 pounds in Mickeys works fine 99% of the time. And if you want even better traction, but 17" racestar wheels and get the Mickely Thompson "R"s - more sidewall given you more surface area to the track.

Yep, and bone stock, on stock all seasons, nothing special, no changing tires. 11.4. And on the street (just plain old accelerating, not racing, EVER), it is amazing. Not Tesla Plaid amazing, not even close. Then again not much else is. Those things seem to break the laws of physics, and are brutal on an unprepped surface.

And the car has poor resale value because no one wants electric, plus when the battery dies, the car becomes worthless. Naaa. I wouldnt take the Daytona if it was free. I'll save my cash and get whatever 8 cyl they come up with down the road.

Electric cars are like microwaves ovens versus conventional ovens IMO. Plus our dragstrip does not allow electric vehicles due to fire hazard.
Where is this? I never heard of that before. In fact, I the Hellcats and Tesla's are allowed to run 9's w/o cage or roll bar. This is at Great Lakes.

On prepped tracks, I think people are getting high 11s with the new sixpack scat pack (bone stock), especially with launch control dialed in.

I’ve seen a few videos with the HC vs new sixpack scat pack, and the sixpack scat pack smokes the HC from a dead stop on a drag strip race…. could just be operator error… but HC only won on a roll race.

Like I said, I’d not really judge it until you drive one and sounds like you’re curious enough it’d be worth the dealership headache. However, if you’re having fun with your HC, idk why you wouldn’t just keep that. Sounds like yours is a track day car and not really a daily driver… the new sixpacks are great daily drivers.
