What's new

Paint Job is starting to flake off at 1300 miles and less than two months of ownership

Got mine on Saturday. Noticed it today. Same place, different color. Already texted my salesman.
What part of the car is this exactly? This is a major bummer…

On the bright side, your bicep and calf looking jacked as hell in the car reflection… must be the muscle car effect 😂

It’s the paint on the front bumper where it meets the fender. I do lift weights a bit.

No, it’s a two door. Built in January of 26.
Thanks. Mine was built in April and is a 2 door for now all looks good no paint issues. Later RJD

I wonder if there was a bad batch of paint or adhesion promoter that affected earlier build dates?

I’ll update the thread after my dealer talks to Dodge.

Thanks will like to hear what they say

Am I seeing an interference issue??????
You know, the more I’ve considered it, I suspect it may be a fitment/rubbing issue that’s causing the paint to come off the plastic bumpers. Or that plus poor adhesion.

You think those parts of the body/exterior are flexing and rubbing against each other at the joints? That’d be some 💩. Hopefully they just rushed the paint job and something wasn’t baked before the next layer was applied or something, the former sounds like a nightmare.

Must been a Monday build. Later RJD

I'm just speculating. Could be any or all of those issues. Hopefully my dealer gets back to me today and I can update here.

Just heard back from the dealer. They are coming to get my car and drop me a loaner vehicle. They will work with Stellantis to get the repair covered. I'll post updates as I get them.
